Sean & Lori's Wedding Day

Sean, Bryan's brother, was married to Lori on Saturday, May 23rd in the Snowflake Temple. The all day event was jammed pack with lots of events. First we set up for the dinner, then went to the temple sealing (wedding ceremony), dinner party following, and finally a reception. It was a beautiful wedding even though it rained during the outdoor reception. It was definitely an unforgettable event.

Train Ride

While we were in Show Low for Memorial Day weekend, we went on a train ride with the Frost family. The train rides are only on Saturdays & Sundays. Fawnbrook Northern Railroad was a great event for the kids. Colby loved every minute of it. Even though it was in an old part of town, they had done a good job with the details of it. The kids liked the little village, and going over the bridge was a little scary at first, but we had an awesome time.

Check out Dad...he barely fits on the train.

Melanie, Brock & Owen. I don't think I have ever seen Owen this calm. He just sat quietly the entire time.

Marissa & Colby looking out ahead. The conductor passed out tickets to all the passengers. You can kind of see Marissa's ticket in her hand.

Pool & Rainy Days

The beginning of May, Colby decided he wanted to get out his inflatable pool to play in. It was still a little chilly to be playing in the water. He had his cousins come over to play with him too. Since mid May, we have now been swimming in the neighborhood pool 2-3 times a week. It is a little chilly at 8:30 in the morning. Colby wishes I would let him go at 7am, but I insist that we eat breakfast first. I have been slowly getting Colby used to swimming, where now he kicks and only holds my hands while going across the pool. He is getting a little more comfortable in the water. Hopefully, he will keep it up and be swimming by the end of the summer.

Colby has stopped taking naps, but he starts to fall asleep around 6-7 at night if we are running errands. In the mile we drove he fell asleep. He walked inside and while we quickly put away some stuff he fell asleep. This is how we found him, in the doorway and next to impossible to wake up so we got him ready for bed instead.

It has been a bit unseasonably rainy for the month of May. Colby loves the rain. He asked me the other night if he could outside and jump in the rain. So I let him have a little fun and get soaked in the rain. He got a little cold so he went inside and found a sweatshirt.

Colby is into wearing sunglasses all the time. We can't seem to leave the house without them.

Graduation Day!!!

On May 13th, I graduated from the dental hygiene program at Mesa Community College. It was a long journey, but it was well worth it. It has been a goal of mine for a long time, so it is exciting to have this chapter complete in my life. Bryan & Colby have been a great support during the past two years of my schooling.

I think they were almost as excited as I was for me to be done.
In the end, 16 of us graduated.
Ms. Blitz, the director, placing my RDH pin.
Me, Kasey & Lindsay during the ceremony.
The graduation ceremony was about an hour. Afterwards we had a dessert buffet and then went back to my house for Bryan to make a little treat too. Now onto getting my license!?!

My class was required to attend the main graduation at MCC. It was a 2 hour long event. It was outside and luckily the weather was nice.

Here I am marching out after the graduation.

Awards Ceremony

On May 6th, three other students and I had the opportunity to skip out on clinic to attend an awards ceremony at MCC. It was a nice break to do something different that night. We each received various for our dental hygiene achievements. I received the Qualitat Institute Leadership/Professionalism Award. This award was voted on by my fellow classmates.

We each were allowed to bring along one guest. This was the hygiene group at the event.

Awards Break Down: Shannon received the community service award voted on by the students as well. I received the leadership award. After these 2 awards were voted on then the instructors choose the final awards.
Lindsay received the perio award for treating the most periodontal patients.
Kimber received the golden scaler award for patient care.

We had a great night receiving these awards and then celebrating for a little bit afterwards at Macayo's Mexican Restaurant. We then re-received these awards again at our graduation for all our family & friends to celebrate with us.

Clinical Board Exam

On May 2nd, I took my clinical board exam. The exam was on a patient who fit into very specific guidelines. It was a time test starting at 7:30am and I was out of the building by 11:30am. It was a very nerve racking experience, but I managed to stay very calm. This was my final board exam to complete before going through the process to get my license. I waited about a week to find out my results...I passed! YEAH, all the tests are done!!!

Passed Written Board Exam

After 5 1/2 weeks of waiting and waiting, I finally found out that I passed my written national board exam that I took back in March. I passed it with flying colors. I am so excited that I never have to take this test again, my studying paid off. Also my entire class passed the exam, so that was exciting for all of us. One step closer to being done!

Birthday Boy

We celebrated Bryan's birthday the weekend before since it was on a Wednesday night and I do not get home from clinic until around 9:30pm. We had a great time going out to eat as a family. Then for Bryan's actually birthday Colby & I made him a Chocolate Eclair dessert for the two of them for that evening. One of his favorite desserts, we got the recipe from my aunt Cheryl. We made it in the morning to surprise him.

This video is of Colby singing "Happy Birthday to Dad" for his birthday. They had a fun evening together celebrating it.

Badminton Tournament

Bryan had some friends and family over on a Monday night to play badminton outside. They had a great time with the game & enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

Superheros

We went to a neighborhood exchange and came away with an awesome Buzz Lightyear outfit. Colby now wants to wear it all the time, and he just sweats in out in the plastic outfit.
