July has been pretty warm so we have stayed inside or been at the pool. We probably go swimming 2-3 times a week. Colby loves to swim and will even swim the length of the pool, fearless now.
Carson 5 1/2 months.
He is finally rolling over consistently from back to stomach. He is trying to move forward as well. He is trying to talk occasionally you'll hear ma'ma' or da'da' sounding words. Colby told us one day Carson said, "Colby." We asked, "How did Carson say your name?" Colby said, "Col-B." Anyhow, Colby is a little too excited for him to grow up fast, but he sure loves having him as a little brother especially now that he rolls over.
Carson 6 months... 19lbs, 27inches. 75th percentile. He is rolling over both ways now.
Tatum's 1st Birthday Party:
Colby's cousin, Tatum, celebrated her 1st birthday the end of July. We had a great time helping them celebrate her birthday with friends and family.
Wow, this cake was out of control and it was delicious too!
blowing out the candles on the smash cake. Lisa had to give Tatum a little help to get into eating the cake, she wasn't so excited to have her hands dirty.

Colby and Carson Comparison
Bryan has this picture that he loves of Colby as an infant, so he wanted to take one of Carson too. These aren't the same pictures were took that Bryan likes hanging in our house but the point of this post is to show you the differences & similarities of the two boys at the exact same age (to the day) in the exact same place & outfit.
Carson at 3 months
Colby at 3 months
I'm trying to find a similar one at 6 months.
As of 6 months: They are similar yet different already with there little personalities. Colby as a baby (and now too) & Carson both love to laugh and are/were happy chubby babies. Colby loved to blow on your face and was quite the mover, very active. Carson loves to babble and is happy playing independently.

Family
Here are some new impomtu pictures were took of our family the beginning of July. I'll try again later for a better family shot. As you guessed Colby really didn't want his picture taken so the boy that would let us take pictures has a few more.

Independence Day Weekend
Over the long Independence Day weekend we spent a couple of days in Show Low and the actual 4th in Mesa. We had a good time at the parade in Show Low and saw 2 (and 2 more from a distance) firework shows in the valley. The 3rd was a busy day for us. First we did the parade in Show Low, lunch at Bryan's parent's house, celebrated Chris's birthday, drove back to Mesa, and went to downtown Mesa for all the awesome festivities. On the 4th we went to my parent's house for dinner with them and my sister's family. Then saw the firework show in Tempe with Brock & Marissa. It was a very busy couple of days.

DOWNTOWN MESA:
We had a blast at the downtown Mesa fourth of July festivities. They had all sorts of free activities including carnival games, bouncers, water play activities, shows, exhibits, bands, vendors, safety vehicles, and much more. We saw an awesome show, Captured Miracles, a history to how we became a country.

Colby wanted picture after picture of all the cool military vehicles. Here are just a couple of his favorites.
carnival games with neat little prizes
going down the bouncer. They also had watermelon for a contest too!
Colby loved all of his stickers he got along with his American flag. He was so excited to wave it around.
Martha & George Washington at the Heritage exhibits
Mesa also had a great firework show!
