For Thanksgiving this year we went to Flagstaff. We had a great time with all the relatives staying in a big cabin together. We had a wonderful turkey & ham dinner along with fun games together.
Colby found this cowboy hat in one of the closets and wore it most of the weekend.

Cheryl put together another wonderful year of the Staff Family Olympics. We had a great time playing the fun games.

This is the cabin we stayed at for Thanksgiving weekend. It was very isolated from all the other cabins and on the edge of the national forest. Just down the road from Snowbowl.

We stopped to check out the train along the rode. Colby & his grandparents.

Saturday, we went to the high school state championship game at NAU. It was Show Low H.S. playing Snowflake H.S.; we had a great time meeting up with Bryan's family there.

The next morning we woke up to a blanket of snow. It started snowing the night before while we were at the game. Here is the snowman Colby & Bryan made.

Soccer Season
Colby is having a terrific first soccer season. He is doing much better at practices listening & just having fun. He may not want to play in all of the games but he is still having fun going to each game.

He loves to run after the ball
still smiling despite the other team trying to take the ball away
At each game the coach gives away the game ball for the best player & listener. Colby won the game ball for the first game in November. He was so excited & proud of himself for how well he did.
Getting a snow cone after the game.
This was him at the last game in December. He loved the season, but I think he is glad it is over. It was getting a little chilly at the games.

Expecting
Bryan & I are excited for the new addition to our family. I am expecting a baby boy the end of January. Colby is super excited too! He wants to name the baby, Another Colby. He keeps telling me how he is going to help me change the baby's diaper and how the baby is going to sleep in the cage (crib). He has been a great help through all of this so far bringing me drinks of water & food to eat when I wasn't feeling well and just being a patient little kid. Here are some pictures of me being pregnant, not the best quality; they are all about 5 weeks apart.
30 weeks
25 weeks
just short of 20 weeks
We are excited that in just about 2 months this little newborn baby will be here with us.

Fun in November
November has been a pretty fun month packed full of different activities. We have spent a lot of time at the park and going to different places.
POOL:
What November & swimming? So Colby and a few friends in the neighborhood went for a swim in mid November. It was a little chilly for them, but it has been unseasonably warm.
ZOO:
For our friend, Elle's birthday we went to the zoo. Here the kids are checking out the fish.
Konnor, Elle & Colby milking the cow. They had fun squirting the water into the pail.
Taking a break to play at the "Little People" playground.
BIRDS:
This video is of Colby talking to the birds. We painted a treehouse a couple of months ago, and he keeps hoping that the birds will come and live in it. So I looked out back the other day to find Colby pleading with the birds to go to his treehouse. He started out asking nicely but then got to be a little demanding.
DOWNTOWN SCOTTSDALE:
Just to get out one night, we went to downtown Scottsdale with friends. We went around the historic downtown, looked around an art gallery, watch an artist blow glass, and ate a Nello's Pizza.

Good Times Around Halloween
Colby loves anything to do with pumpkins so of course we had a great time preparing for Halloween. Bryan & I are not that big into Halloween, but Colby loves it so we try to have fun with it for him.

"look at the pumpkin stem"
Colby selected the design; I drew it; Bryan cut it out. Not too bad.
proud of our jack-o-lantern
Celebrating my birthday. So for my birthday we went out for lunch to a nice salad & sandwich place. Then went shopping and had a delicious cake made by my visiting teacher. The next day we had some family over for dinner & they made me my favorite dessert brownie & mint ice cream cake. It was a great birthday.
Halloween we went to a neighborhood carnival and then trick-or-treating with friends. This is Colby & Elle bouncing in the jumper at the party.
Zach, Elle & Colby trick-or-treating. Colby had a great time for Halloween. He is already waiting for the next holiday to come.
