Mountain Climbing

Before school started back, we decided to take another hike since Colby loved the last one. This time we tried a longer and more difficult hike. We hiked to the top of Usery Mountain. We took the Wind Cave Trail until it ended then climbed our way to the top.

Starting out our hike. The faint white line on the mountain in the background has the sign for Phoenix on it.

Loving every minute of the switchbacks!

We made it to the end of Wind Cave. If you look at the picture at the end it is the yellow/brown line at the top of the mountain. We decided to "enter at our own risk." There wasn't much of a trail after this point, but there was a ton of climbing to get to the top.

Colby showing us how steep the hike was.

We all made it to the top. What a view!

It's January, don't you LOVE the weather.

Colby eating his lunch on the top of the mountain. He climbed all the way up by himself. We did carry him part way down the mountain.

This is the mountain we climbed to the top of. On the leftside you can see the yellow/brown line where the hike ended (close to where my finger is), but we continued on the steep path and had a great time!

Colby stopped to take a break at the end, this is how we found him. Silly Kid.

This is the mountain we climbed. We went to the top of the one on the far right.
