4th of July in San Diego!

We spent 4th of July weekend in sunny San Diego with the Frost family. We had a great time with our friends, relaxing at the beach, watching fireworks, enjoying the 4th festivities, and visiting with family!
First day in SD, at Mission Beach watching the sunset.
All the kids had a blast playing in the sand. Carson kept throwing the sand on his face!
At Pacific Beach making sand castles
We would give Carson water and he usually ended up dumping it all over himself

Ready to jump the waves!
On Sunday, we went over to my cousin's house for a BBQ with family. Unfortunately I didn't do so good taking picture on this trip so I don't have many at Lynn & Joe's home. But it was great to see their family, my grandma, Aunt Sandy & Dave. Colby is standing at their cool cabana.
Carson loved the dogs especially Laiker. He just wanted to ride on him, poor dog, but at least he is used to it.
4th of July, ready to head to Pacific Beach. Colby styled Carson's hair on the way to the beach. Despite the look on Carson's face, he didn't mind it.
This video is of Carson and Bryan playing in the water. It reminds me of Colby at this age, no fear of the water. They both just love to play in it. Splash in the puddles with dad.
Carson loved his new shovel! Thanks Grammi & Papa for the sand toys!
Jumping the waves

Our little "lover" boy, always giving hugs for free!
Colby and Marissa decided to go body surfing. Riding the little waves
Splashing in the water
Colby's turn to get buried in the sand

After a morning at the beach, we went to the Big Bay Boom activities prior to the fireworks at the bay. We rode the trolley in and missed all the traffic. Colby is sporting his "face painting" and eating cotton candy from the event. They also had various crafts, bouncy things & slides, along with live music.

Happy 4th!
Colby sporting his hat he made at the booth. Some people went all out and painted it and added streamers to it too! His favorite part of this activity was making a hat, getting a Cars 2 bumper sticker & watching the fireworks.
This video is of Carson dancing to the live music in the background. We would walk around the event and he would just break out dancing to the beat. He also loved sitting on Melanie's lap too.
Owen, Colby & Marissa sporting their "face" paint.
On one of the many bouncy toys

Ready for the fireworks to begin
They set off fireworks between the bay where Bryan is standing and Coronado Island. There were 4 separate barges of fireworks. It was awesome. You could even see them reflecting on the water, and they went perfectly with the music.

This video is of some of the fireworks we saw. At one point the fireworks spelled out USA. Colby thinks it said ASU, I guess Bryan trained him right :)
Heading home to AZ. We briefly stopped at the neighborhood park which still has a merry-go-round. Bryan and I loved these as kids, and you can't find them in AZ. So we had to give the kids a ride. After our quick trip to the park, we saw my grandma's place and said goodbye, then headed back to AZ just in time to miss the Haboob (a big sand storm)!

Having fun riding it
