San Francisco

We drove the coastal way up to San Francisco, it was breathtaking. We spent the next 2 days in San Francisco (SF). The first day the kids and I toured the town a little. We mostly walked around the piers and to a park by Fort Mason. Later that night we finally saw Bryan. The next day we spent time touring the city as a family. The last day we drove the curvy coastal highway to Anaheim.

walking along the waterfront. I couldn't believe people were swimming here without wetsuits, guess it goes to show you they are used to it. We enjoyed looking at the massive ships.

We walked from the piers up to Fort Mason. It was a beautiful green park.

Carson loving that he could get out and move around. He was so good the entire trip. We just pushed him around in his stroller and he was awesome!

Later that night we picked up dad. The kids and I were so excited to see him.

Meeting up with dad. We walked up & down the piers & the wharf, then over to the Washington Park. We then decided Chinatown wasn't too far so we walked there and then up the steep hill to Lombard Street (the crooked street), and back down to Ghiradelli's Square. It end up being a long walk (7 miles), but it was fun to get out and see things. Colby did great he only complained of walking on the last steep incline (7odeg), so we said try walking backwards you use different muscles. He did and didn't complain again.

This pier had some really cool ship. Bryan was to take one out in the future; I think it only sails a few times a year.

We found this awesome arcade on one of the piers by the wharf. It had tons of old games. Colby & I are playing a hockey game.

the top of the hill...hard to tell how steep it is. We were amazed how close everything was and how people managed to park there cars especially we the garage was almost at a right angle to the entrance.

Finally at Ghiradelli's Square...tried some chocolate. Colby liked the leaves in SF. He stashed a couple to take home.
We stayed right in the Wharf area by the Cannery. It was fun to be close to all the tourist things.

Later that evening, we went back down to the pier area ate dinner & picked out some Salt Water Taffy. Colby loved seeing all the colors and finding out the flavors.

Our last day in SF we drove around and headed down the coast towards Anaheim. It was such a beautiful drive definitely one you should do once in your life. I say once because the turns were a bit much for Colby and I, but we made it. We stopped a few times along the way to take pictures.

This stop was at Ragged Point. It was a quaint stop with a cafe and a lodge. It would be a beautiful place to stay someday.

They was a "pathway" down to the water. It was one of those go if you dare!



We had to stop here. Bryan thought it was so cool that the waves crashed on the road. Along the way, we also saw about 50-60 sea lions relaxing on the beach. Our drives along the coast were different then we expected. We saw all sorts of animals and plants growing. Animals like deer, elk, cows, sea lions, horses,.... Plants/Vegetation like artichoke, wineries, pumpkin patches, and tons more. So many fields along the way.

Our last two stops before Anaheim were Solvang (a danish town) and Santa Barbara. They each how such unique features. These pictures were in Solvang.
